This was a wonderfully evocative photograph - could be early morning, could be late evening. The rolling haze is both benign and foreboding - is it bringing relief to the city after a stretch of hot days? Or is it the forerunner of an impending storm?
Layer 1: A field recording I did of vehicles travelling through the Neerabup Underpass in Perth, near my house.
Layer 2: Above field recording slowed 2x and run through a doppler effect.
Layer 3+4: A snippet from the field recording of a car driving past, slowed down 32x. One layer is being run through Dominator VST amp distortion effect and Around The Head pan, the other through a Bandpass Spinner filter.
Layer 5+6: The snippet used in layers 3+4 run through Ableton's convert-sound-to-MIDI option, run through the Glacier Voices VST.
